ITD provides a variety of web services to the campus community, from website hosting to a comprehensive search engine for finding university web pages.

Web site hosting

University faculty, staff, and students can host their own web sites by way of UMdrive, the university's web-based file storage system.

University search engine

ITD maintains a search engine that indexes the university's web content.

Luminis Content Management System (LCMS)

ITD administers the Luminis Content Management Suite (LCMS), which provides a means by which university colleges, divisions, and departments can automate web page creation. The system provides users with a series of templates as well as an interface for using them to create web pages. The system also provides users with content expiration and workflow, which introduces an approval process.

Digital certificates

ITD purchases licenses for digital certificates in bulk and makes them available to university departments at a discounted price.

Portal channels and groups

ITD can create custom channels within the Spectrum portal for University departments and organizations. Also available within the portal are group areas that can be used for discussions, calendars of events, and posting files by campus organizations and classes.
