Responsible Printing Initiative

What is it?

The Responsible Printing Initiative ( RPI ) is an SGA/Information Technology cooperative designed to fairly distribute printing resources.

Why implement this policy?

To reduce waste and eliminate abuse:

  • 25% (2 million print pages) are thrown away annually
  • 3% of lab clients print 25% of the annual total (2 million copies)

How does this affect me?

  • You will receive a per semester allotment of 500 pages – unused pages roll-over to the next semester and are not refundable.
  • Additional pages can be purchased in 500 page increments for a non-refundable fee of   $25.00 .
  • Emergency allocations will be available (see Lab Attendant or visit the IT Helpdesk in room 124 of the Administration Building.

How do I get more paper?

Bring your receipt from the Bursar to the IT Helpdesk in the Administration Building , Room 124.

Receipts are obtained from the Bursar's Cashier window on the first floor of Wilder Tower.  The Bursar window is open 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday.  You may also visit eBursar to pay online.  After logging into the site with your UUID, choose Make a Payment and select Pay for Printing.

Who pays for the 500 pages I receive each semester?

Printing supplies are funded through the Technology Access Fee (TAF) paid by students.
